Pay The Newbie Price

We are all tired of hearing about our comfort zone. Although deep down we know that it is something true, nobody talks about how uncomfortable it can get.

The advice has become clichéd and if you tell someone they will want to roll their eyes to the back of their skulls.

So a piece of less metaphorical and more pragmatic advice is this:

Pay the newbie price.

What happens when you step out of your comfort zone and dare to try something new?

You become a newbie.

You become inexperienced, frustrated, fearful, and insecure.

When you start going to the gym, you will see people who are experts. They lift more weight than you, have better equipment, do more difficult workouts, look more confident and look better than you.

The same happens in any scenario.

If you go into dance classes, you will see people who are amazing at dancing. And there you are, an uncoordinated and graceless being.

When you're trying to grow, it's normal to feel helpless, overwhelmed, out of place, and even humiliated.

That's what it means to pay the newbie price.

We all started as newbies. Making mistakes and crying to sleep. But a new day arrives and you must get up to continue failing successfully.

It's ironic, but stagnation gives us a sense of security. The comfort zone feels great, but nothing grows there. That is why you must pay the newbie price. You should keep going no matter how uncomfortable you may feel in something unknown.

So get out there and work your tarsier off.

An extra tip

We are all and have been rookies at one time or another.

However, if when you start something new, you remain constant, you will enter a select group of people.

Consistency is your best tool, it is it that will take you to that new and unexplored place to become your new comfort zone.

Because that's really what it's about: expanding your comfort zone. Then you will continue to grow and explore new places and make them part of your comfort zone.

So remember: You should always pay the newbie price.
