Everything I Need To Know About You Is At The Tip Of Your Fingers
You probably don’t know how important a role our hands play in our way of expressing ourselves. Communication experts study hands deeply as part of our communication.
But hands don’t just say a lot about how we communicate. They can keep a secret about our personality and even possible heart disease.
Researchers in Russia even studied the relationship between the length of our fingers and the amount of money a person has.
I wish I were making that up.
Fingers and personality
Dr. Pete Hurd, a professor at the University of Alberta specializing in neuroscience, assures that there is a relationship between the length of the ring finger and testosterone.
When there is a higher level of this hormone in the uterus during pregnancy, the ring finger grows larger.
Therefore, if your index finger is shorter than your ring finger, it means higher testosterone levels. This is related to a more aggressive, irrational personality and a better capacity for physical work.
In the opposite case, if your index finger is longer than your ring finger, it signifies a more rational, empathetic personality and greater intellectual abilities.
Fingers and salary
I couldn’t leave you hanging with what I said about Russians studying your fingers and the money you have.
Russia’s Higher School of Economics studied 700 men and 900 women between the ages of 25 and 60.
These people had the length of their fingers measured — specifically the ratio of the length of the index finger to the ring finger. Also, each of the participants was interviewed about their financial status.
It was revealed that most people with a higher salary fulfilled the index finger ratio longer than the ring finger, especially in men.
Later studies concluded that this is due to higher academic performance leading to better job prospects.
Fingers and depression
A study from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology suggested that the higher the testosterone levels, the greater the chances of developing mental illness.
Therefore, men with the longest ring finger are more likely to suffer from depression, ADHD, heart disease, and Tourette syndrome. And in the case of women, they are more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression.
A tip for your next Tinder date
When you want to know more about a person quickly, ask them to show you their hands.
By looking at the length between their index and ring fingers, you will know a lot about their personality, job, and possible illnesses.
Oh, and if they have a wedding ring, that’s not a good sign either.
