5 Things You Didn't Know Alexa Could Do (Last Updated 2021)
Amazon's virtual assistant has been around in our homes since its launch in 2014. When we think of Alexa, we usually ask her to turn on music, google something for us, or turn off the lights.
However, Alexa is capable of doing thousands of actions, even if we only know the simplest. And with each update, Alexa can get more done.
These are the functions of your Amazon Echo that you probably did not know.
1. It lets you know who is at home
If you have the Alexa app, you can ask if your loved ones made it home safely. You can know who they are and you can even communicate with them through your smart speaker.
You can leave them a message reminding them to take out the trash.
2. Protect your home
Through a premium subscription called Guard Safe, Alexa can be programmed to do certain things while you are not at home.
These actions include: calling emergency services, detecting unusual activity, detecting strange sounds, and turning the lights on or off to make it appear that there are people in the house.
3. Find your phone
Don't you hate when you lose your phone in your own home?
Alexa can find it, that in case it is not set to vibrate, of course. By linking your mobile phone to your Amazon Echo, you can ask Alexa to help you find it. Alexa will call your phone making it ring.
4. Track your Amazon package
If you're like me, you can't stop checking the tracking of your package when you buy something on Amazon. So you will love this feature.
Ask Alexa to let you know the shipping status of your package. Also, you can ask her to notify you when it reaches a specific point.
5. It tells you the most relevant news of the day
You can program Alexa to cure the news of your favorite portals. At the end or beginning of the day, you can ask Alexa to tell you the most relevant events.
Find out about the results of your favorite sports, the stock market, etc.
So you don't have to waste time scrolling through the social media feed on your phone.
Did you know all these functions? Is there any other that you use with your Amazon Echo or other devices like Google Home?
